Whispering Pines supports green travel through the WinterGreen vacations program.  You can help protect our country's wilderness simply by going on vacation.  Stay at our Atwood Lake, Ohio bed and breakfast, and we will make a donation to The Wilderness Society in your name.*

We have joined with other small inns around the country in offering our guests a simple way to support our spectacular American wilderness areas through a program called WinterGreen Vacations™.

*If you stay with us for two days or more from January through March 2010, we will donate 2% of your paid lodging to The Wilderness Society, who will, in turn, email a heartfelt thanks to you for your support.

It costs you nothing. Like we said, it's simple.

WINTERGREEN VACATIONS - THE DETAILS

WinterGreen Vacations™ is a new program developed by WildSpring Guest Habitat (on the Southern Oregon Coast), designed to help protect our country's remaining wilderness. They have worked out a partnership with The Wilderness Society in this initiative based on their admiration and trust for the work they do on behalf of all.

Whispering Pines joins with a few small, independently owned, eco-friendly inns and B&Bs across the country that will be beta testing WinterGreen™ in 2010. We are all committed to supporting those wild, beautiful areas across our country that we feel embody a good part of our American history and spirit. If WinterGreen™ is effective, we hope it will become a national program for thousands more in 2011. Just think of what we can all accomplish together.
