The Color of Fall on Atwood Lake, Ohio

October 31 and the goblins will be out tonight. Whispering Pines Bed & Breakfast is located about 3 miles outside of town, so even though it is well lit, we seldom have trick or treaters. That’s okay because this year it falls on a Saturday and we will be filled with overnight guests celebrating the last weekend of October. Soon the fall will give way to winter and the snow will begin to fall on the pine trees. It really is quite beautiful.

The other day we had a light rain and when the clouds began to move, the sun began to shine once again. I think this was a photographers dream for a few moments. I happened to have my camera in hand and quickly ran outside to take a few pictures. Everything was perfect; the overcast sky, the light trickling in from the sun and soon there was a rainbow as well. Everything turned a bright yellow/gold – it was breath taking. In fact several of our guests also talked about natures light show that early evening. So I wanted to share these photos with you.

Many years ago we traveled by car to Dallas to visit family. We drove through a rain storm on the highway. The rain stopped, the sun came out and there were three rainbows poised in the sky. Cars on both side of the highway stopped to look. It was awesome. I wish we had been camera ready at the moment.

Do you have a favorite scenic photo you would like to share? Would love to see it.

Hope to see you soon,
Whispering Pines Bed & Breakfast
